Iford Biodiversity Project Phase Two - The Brooks

Phase Two of the Iford Biodiversity Project sees extensive water level raising on the Lewes Brooks SSSI with the intention of creating additional habitat for breeding and wading birds, as well as improving the quality of the SSSI.  Raised water levels will also provide flood storage in the winter. The Brooks were originally drained in the 1940s and 1950s and this scheme will see the return to what they might have looked like prior to that.

 

Phase Two will create approximately 800 BNG units for sale, expanding our overall BNG offering from Phase One and offering more diverse, high-quality habitats to help you meet your obligations.
